Does the word “Bug-Free” really exist in Game Development?

I learnt that in order to seriously make a game bug-free, one has to start from the roots of the game and work it out from there. One way is to make sure there is always an origin point you can return to before any other action is triggered. That being said, once your game is programmed midway, tracing back the origin point can be a pain in the ass.

in the commercial world however, fixing bugs doesn’t retain your players, http://psychochild.org/?p=330. its good to make your players happy by giving them bug free games. but as players they know that there will always be bugs, that’s why there are always fixes coming along. Adding content is what retains players’ interest. As long as there are no serious bugs, players will prefer more content then having us to spend more time to fix minor bugs. agree?

And depends on how the bugs affect the game. Some bugs are just too minor to justify the time you will be spending on them.
